How to use it
Choose the effort distance and mode: calculate a split in the selected wind conditions, or find the equivalent still-air split at the same effort. Adjust wind profile and direction using the same options as the Wind Pace Calculator. The tool analyses relative wind direction on the straights and bends and updates the result automatically.
What you need to know
Over a full lap, headwinds and tailwinds partly offset each other but do not always cancel completely, because wind’s aerodynamic effect is nonlinear. The model assumes constant wind speed and direction, ignores drafting and measures distance along the official lane 1 measurement line.

Methodology & Sources
Track: a model based on standard World Athletics track geometry. The construction radius is 36.50 m; the lane 1 measurement line is 0.30 m farther out, giving a measurement radius of 36.80 m. Each straight is 84.390 m long, and the nominal lap is approximately 400.001 m. Each bend is divided into 180 straight segments to calculate relative wind direction. The metabolic model is the same as the Wind Pace Calculator. Comparison with the Running Writings Wind Calculator checks consistency; it is not independent scientific validation.
