How to use it

How to use it

Choose a distance and time: for example, 1000 m in 3:10 gives 400 m in 1:16. The table updates automatically as you change your selections.

Limits

What you need to know

The table holds your chosen pace constant; it does not predict performance. A 70″ 400 m does not mean you can maintain that pace over longer distances. It does not account for fatigue, weather, gradient or altitude. For a race-time prediction, see the Race Predictor.

Next step

The table gives you times, not a training session.

Knowing a pace is the first step. The next is knowing which pace serves your goal this week.

Methodology & Sources

Formula: time = pace × distance. Distances: 400 m to 20,000 m use exact metres. The 5 mi and 10 mi distances use the international mile (1609.344 m). Half marathon (21.0975 km) and marathon (42.195 km) follow World Athletics standards. Precision: no intermediate rounding; only the final display is rounded to the nearest second. There may be a one-second difference from tables that round intermediate values.
