How to use it

How to use it

Enter a distance and target time to get your pace, or work the other way round. For example, 10K in 45:00 → 4:30/km. Custom accepts any distance in km, and the result updates as you type.

What you need to know

The calculation assumes an even pace throughout. It does not predict performance or account for course profile, weather, fuelling or race fatigue. For a prediction, use the Race Predictor; for elevation changes, use GAP. To divide your time into splits, use the Split Calculator.

Next step

Calculating race pace is the easy part.

The calculator tells you the pace your goal requires. It cannot tell you whether that goal is realistic or how to get there. That is what we build together.

Methodology & Sources

Calculation: direct division of time and distance, with no intermediate rounding. Distances: 5K and 10K use whole kilometres. Half marathon (21.0975 km) and marathon (42.195 km) follow World Athletics standards. Display: rounded to the nearest second.
